If you need a shark licence here's what to do:
You can call the DFO office in Yarmouth (902-742-0879) 9am to 12 noon and 1pm to 4pm and give your credit card number over the phone and have the shark license faxed to a number of their choosing on same day. Cost is under $12.

Shark Chum Unfortunately there will be no Shark Chum available for sale at this year's derby,
______________________________________________________________ For history and information on shark fishing derbies: http://www.marinebiodiversity.ca/shark/english/derbies.htm The fishing derby remains the core of the festival and is considered "second to none" by many of the participants. Fishers of all ages will try to land the biggest mackerel, groundfish or shark to be eligible for great prizes. SeaFest has grown in reputation and participation each year, with 15,000 - 20,000 people participating in the event over three days.
